Telstra enables Australian Idol fans to watch live on mobile phones
Sydney - Telstra customers can watch Australian Idol live on their 3G mobile phones, starting August 26-- the first time any Idol program around the globe has screened live on mobile phones.Idol Insider will start five minutes before and end five minutes after each episode of Australian Idol, and when Network Ten cuts to ad breaks, the cameras will keep rolling behind the scenes and show content, bloopers included, live.The host is Cal Wilson, a stand-up comedian and star of Ten's improvised comedy series Thank God You're Here. Telstra's Next G™ network provides coverage to 98.8% of the Australian population. The Idol LIVE TV Pack costs A$2 a week and gives Telstra mobile customers access to each episode of Australian Idol 2007 streamed live, Video on Demand, with highlights of artist performances, SMS Alerts, Idol Insider, Idol Online Community, wallpapers of the final 12 contestants and a themed ring tone. Downloads of episodes are available for A$2.95.
